I’ll start this off with my grandma’s favorite dish: rice. As she says, “rice goes with everything.” So true. One of my favorite dishes is my dad’s lemongrass short ribs. He marinates pork ribs in fish sauce, lemongrass and other herbs, then grills them slowly. SO GOOD!

My favorite dish is rice noodles soup. I like them all…Thai boat noodles, pho, chicken noodles or kasoy. It’s perfect for a cold evening, when you’re sick or to cure a hangover.

My favorite Asian dish is probably ginger and scallion crab. Crab is already delicious and that sauce just makes it extra tasty!! Definitely most flavorful crab dish I know of.

Roasted pork belly, by far, especially with bok choy or in steamed buns. A whole roasted belly with a charred, crusty outside and delicate, rich, flavorful meat inside is just perfection.

My favorite is Pork Fried Rice, but it has to be made with bean sprouts and water chestnuts and no peas or carrots. I love it for the taste and the texture.

  8. My favorite is Sweet & Sour Chicken. I had to go gluten-free a few years ago, and just adapted the recipe so that it tastes like I remember. Love the contrasting flavors.

I remember it fondly from being a teenager and the first Chinese restaurant came into the area–and we had to drive 45 minutes to get there! It’s so easy to forget that it was just 2 decades ago that Indian, Chinese, and Mexican were pretty exotic. It’s much more fun to live today! =) Happy Easter, and thanks for the giveaway.
